Brian Haberfield's Annual Snow Trip.
Saturday July 17 2010
Snow Trip up to Mount Pinnibar and surrounds
Date Saturday July 17th
Meeting The Club House, Albury Showground
Times 8am for an 8.15 departure. Return is undetermined due to weather conditions
Trip Limit 15 vehicles
Trip standard medium to hard, due to weather conditions
Fuel Full tank from Wodonga will be sufficient for most vehicles. There is fuel available for the return trip to Wodonga at Corryong

Trip Notes
Most have travelled these roads before in the warmer months.
Depending on the weather and track conditions it is a quick and easy day trip. We may have a couple of recoveries to perform, but thats part of the 4wding adventure. This is a trip Brian Haberfield enjoyed and where I met the adventurous man. He enjoyed it even more if it was snowing and the Disco was bogged to the doors in snow and the winch had to come out.
Equipment Any recovery gear you may have, minimum a snatch strap and 2 shackles. Good tyres (either A/T's with lots of tread or M/T)Warm clothing morning and afternoon teas, lunch, snacks and plenty to drink.

Mount Pinnibar Track is now seasonaly closed.
We will be travelling through the Wild Boar Nature Reserve Area and over Mount Sassafras.

After the last few days and what the forecasters are predicting over the next month. This could be quite a drive.
Might be the first time we cant conquor Mt Sassafras.

This rain and wind might make a bit of a difference to the :driving:conditions on the weekend. 
Lets hope the temperature plumets and the snow Gods arrive on cue

What a trip,
Plenty of snow  , a couple of minor recoveries due to traction, and a few turn arounds. An one Busted clutch slave cylinder.
The bridge that crosses Wheelers Creek on Wheelers creek track was missing and under repair and a huge tree  on the Scrubby Creek track short cut.
In all 13 vehicles and a good feed had by most at the Koetong Hotel on the way back
