General
1.The trip leader is in charge of all aspects of the trip. If there is any doubt as to the interpretation of a Club Rule, the trip leader is to be consulted.
2. Drivers are not to consume alcohol during the driving phase of any event or trip.
3. The driver of each vehicle is to be correctly licensed to drive. Road rules are to be observed at all times.
4. All vehicles are to be correctly registered, have third party insurance and are to be in a sound mechanical condition.
5. No animals are permitted at Club events or trips.
6. No firearms are permitted at Club events or trips.7. All flora and fauna is to be left as it is. Take only pictures and leave only footprints!!!
8. Participants booked on trips must give the trip leader adequate warning of cancellations. Remember – others may want to attend.
9. The trip leader is to select a Tail-End-Charlie, Sergeant-At-Arms and Trip Report Writer. He is also to organize a verbal brief at the next club meeting.
10. All temporary members must be registered on the Trip Attendance Sheet.
11. It is strongly recommended that two copies of the Personal Details Form should be completed and placed in 2 sealed envelopes with your name and the name and phone numbers of your emergency contact on the front of the envelopes, (1 for each participant).
The first envelope should be carried in the members vehicle’s glove box or centre console.
The second envelope should be handed to the trip leader before the trip commences. (This is strongly recommended,
but not mandatory).
At the conclusion of the trip, the trip leader will return the unopened envelopes to participants for use on their next
club trip.
12. The vehicle driver will be responsible for their passengers’ behaviour.
Convoy Procedure
13. The trip leader is to give a brief prior to each trip detailing the convoy procedures each participant is to follow.
14. Vehicles are to maintain a safe distance at all times and are to be aware of other road users,
15. Vehicles wishing to stop or leave the convoy must indicate their intention to the following vehicle (usually by radio) and inform the trip leader.
16. Always ensure that the vehicle following knows which way the convoy has turned.
17. When ascending or descending steep inclines, each vehicle is to wait until told it is safe to follow.
18. Gates are to be left as they re found. Tail-End-Charlie is to confirm the status of each gate as it is passed.
19. Vehicles are to follow, as closely as possible, the wheel tracks of the vehicle in front. No separate deviations are to be made.
20. All rubbish should remain in the vehicle
21. The trip leader is in charge of all recovery procedures. If this is not possible the trip leader will delegate a person. All other participants are to keep out of the way and are to follow directions as required.
Camping
22. The trip leader is to select the camp site and all participants are to camp inside the selected area.
23. Only one camp fire is to be used by all participants for cooking, etc. The fire is to be completely extinguished prior to leaving the site.
24. No cans, bottles or foil is to be burned in the fire.
25. If music is played, it is only to be heard in the immediate vicinity of the car/radio. No loud music will be tolerated and no music at all after 10 PM.
23. Toilets facilities are to be established well away from any water source.
27. Washing is not permitted near a water source.
